North Port veterans and members of their families who need assistance, information and advice regarding benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs are encouraged to meet with Sarasota County Veterans Service Officer Tom Carhart.
Mr. Carhart holds regular office hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Fridays in Room 264 at North Port City Hall, 4970 City Hall Boulevard. Take the elevator to the second floor, then proceed ahead slightly to the right and follow the hallway to Room 264.
The County Veterans Service Officer knows the extent, the meaning and the application of laws that have been passed by the U.S, Congress in the interests of veterans and their dependents. He also know the rules and regulations adopted by the Department of Veterans Affairs to clarify and implement those laws.
