The City of North Port provides a high quality of customer service to its residents. Providing you with answers and addressing your concerns in a timely manner is important to us.

The City of North Port has a City Manager government style in which the City Commission appoints a City Manager to run the city. As a charter officer, the City Manager answers to the City Commission.

If you cannot get the answers that you need elsewhere, the City Manager’s Office is here to help.

Since Steven S. Crowell, Jr., took the position of North Port City Manager in July 2005, the City’s has focused on improving customer service for its residents.
“There’s an expecta
tion inside the City of North Port that customer’s questions are answered accurately and completely, and that employees are expected and empowered to solve a customer’s problem within the context of city values and outcomes,” Mr. Crowell said.
Mr. Crowell believes in the importance of accountability. He fosters a work environment among employees that is outcome based, principle centered and customer focused.

Assistant City Manager

 

Assistant City Manager Daniel Schult spent 17 months as the City’s Human Resources Manager before taking the position inside the City Manager’s Office in September 2005. Mr. Schult is known among staff and the public for his reliability, friendly demeanor and open door policy. He believes in customer service and the importance of dependability.

Economic Development Manager Allan Lane wants to help the City of North Port’s business community thrive. Mr. Lane joined the City staff in January 2008 and is responsible for supporting the local business community and bringing new economic development to North Port.

Community Outreach Manager Erin Bryce joined the City Manager's Office team in August 2007. Her focus is to connect the North Port community by telling North Port’s story in a variety of different mediums, including video, print and online.

Senior Executive Assistant Marilyn Garlick
has worked for the City of North Port since 1999 and in the City Manager’s Office since 2006. Her bright smile and friendly voice on the phone demonstrates the high standards for quality customer service inside the City Manager’s Office.
