On Thursday, August 28th, through Saturday, August 30th, both the north and south legs of Chamberlain Boulevard at the Price Boulevard intersection, will be closed to traffic and Price Boulevard traffic will be reduced to one lane, between the hours of 7:00am to 7:00pm.
The City of North Port Public Works Solid Waste Division wants residents to be aware that waste collection will not change for observance of Labor Day, Monday, September 1st, 2008. City offices will be closed on that day.
Conditions permitting, staff from Florida Division of Forestry will begin scheduled controlled burn in the Myakka Forest today, Wednesday, August 27, 2008.
The North Port Police and Fire Departments will host a ceremony to remember the lives that were lost, the heroic efforts that were made and the tragedy that took place on September 11, 2001.
On US41, the median opening for access to the North Port Marketplace and Shoppes at NorthPort shopping centers is temporarily closed prohibiting left turns into and out of these businesses. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes affected by this median access closure.
